Looking back at my posts over the past several years, it's very clear to me that it's time to stop blogging. I used to have things to say, stories to tell, adventures to share. The last entry was back in May, but this was just about my appearance in Towpath Talk. The last post about Kantara, however, was in November last year. Since then, I've had little or nothing to say.
A number of things have come together to restrict our visits to the boat, and to immerse us in our home and family. Don't get me wrong. None of those are bad in any way. We're delighted to have done a lot of work in our garden, and to be spending time with our family. A few weeks ago, we had a few days in the marina, and our son and daughter-in-law brought two (nearly three) year-old Nina to see Kantara for the first time. She was most impressed!
My arthritic hip isn't much of a problem at the moment, and I'll be putting it to the test when we return to the boat this week to deal with the rust that's started to creep around the hull. We'll moor up in a longtime favourite spot of ours where the bank is low and the hull is very accessible, and I'll see just how able I am to do the jumping on and off the boat, and the handling of the ropes when mooring. All being well, we might continue our journey and try me on some locks. Will my hip allow it?? I won't report back.
One thing is certain. I can't maintain the blog on silly little bursts of travel. It's boring enough as it is. So now is the time to stop. Thank you, those who have been following me. Thanks for your interest and your comments. There are loads of blogging boaters out there - take a look in YouTube, where you'll find numerous vlogs. Enjoy!
